Smile; and Others

Smile your gorgeous smile for me
Light up your lifeless eyes
Your sadness stills my very soul
Take off your dark disguise.
In it’s place put on the cloak
Of joy and happiness
Live each day just for today
And feel it’s warm caress.
Forget the past you cannot change
The future’s just a mystery
Embrace the present in your arms
As tomorrow it is history.
Sadness is a waste of time
There’s too much else to do
So promise me you’ll take the time
To smile and just be you.
Give Away a Smile
When you tell me you are happy
won’t you say it with a smile?
I like to see your eyes light up and in a little while
you’ll go from smiles to laughter
and your mouth will open wide,
and out will come the happiness
you simply cannot hide;
and as you walk upon your way
your happy smile will multiply
and leap to those you meet.
A smile upon a happy face is beautiful to see.
It’s just the tonic we all need
(I think you will agree)
to make the world a brighter place
to lift our spirits high-
Fill our hearts to overflowing.
Won’t you give a smile a try?
Show your pearly whites and give your lips some exercise-
stretch them to your cheekbones
and just watch your humour rise.
Your heart will tell you THANK YOU
and you’ll have a happy day,
and when it’s over you’ll still have
the smile you gave away.
The Smile
There is a Smile of Love,
And a Smile of Deceit,
And there is a Smile of Smiles
In which these two Smiles meet.
And there is a Frown of Hate,
And there is a Frown of Disdain,
And there is a Frown of Frowns
Which you strive to forget in vain.
For it sticks in the Heart’s deep core
And it sticks in the deep Back bone:
And no Smile that ever was smil’d.
But only one Smile alone,
That Betwixt the Cradle & Grave
It only once Smil’d can be
But, when it once is Smil’d,
There’s an end to all Misery.
William Blake
SMILING
Smiling is infectious,
You catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner,
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized,
I’d passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile just like mine,
could travel the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don’t leave it undetected.
Let’s start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
I came to buy a smile – today –
But just a single smile –
The smallest one upon your face
Will suit me just as well –
The one that no one else would miss
It shone so very small –
I’m pleading at the “counter” – sir –
Could you afford to sell -
Laughter
A smile upon a happy face
is instantly contagious;
It multiplies at rapid pace
delightfully outrageous,
and once it’s born it never dies,
but slips beyond our earthly ties
to somewhere out beyond our reach.
Beyond terrestrial time,
to lap upon some astral beach-
laughter, yours and mine.
Happy chuckles far from earth
filling up a sea of mirth;
smiles and grins and loud guffaws,
all live forever after,
chortling round in outer space,
and gleefully, without a face.
