Music and others
Music……..The greatest good that mortals know,
And all of heaven we have below.
Songs for the people
Let me make the songs for people,
Songs for old and young,
Songs to stir like battle cry
Wherever they are sung.
Not the clashing of sabres,
For carnage or for strife;
But songs to thrill the hearts of men
With more abundant life.
Let me make the songs for the weary,
Amid life’s fever and fret,
Till hearts shall relax their tension,
And careworn brows forget.
Let me sing for little children,
Before their footsteps stray,
Sweet anthems of love and duty,
To float over life’s highway.
I would sing for the poor and aged
Whose shadows dim their sight;
Of the bright and restful mansions,
Where there shall be no night.
Our world so worn and weary,
Needs music, pure and strong,
To hush the jangle and discords
Of sorrow, pain, and wrong.
Music to soothe all its sorrow,
Till war and crime shall cease;
And the hearts of men grown tender
Girdle the world with peace.
Music
The blood on through my veins.
It inhabits all of my body,
It electrifies my brain.
With its cheery welcome noise.
I often hear late at night,
It brings me countless joys.
The sound to simply stop.
But were it to do so forever,
That, I would like, not!
Its jumping, pulsing beat.
It gets into your heart and soul,
It gets into your feet!
That’s how much it means to me.
It’s magic is felt by everyone,
Mothers and fathers, daughters and sons.
Start with a song
A little bird once told me,
“Start your morning with a song,
It will keep your outlook brighter
As the moments go along.
Cheerfulness is just a tonic
That is priceless, yet is free-
Use it often in big doses
It has always worked for me!”
