Outside my window – Rain reminding me of a passage I read recently….
‘When earth, air and sky were made of the same sodden grey cloth, when winter can no longer muster an honest cold but will not admit the warm tides of spring lapping at it’s gates. I am thankful for – The rain replenishing my garden. The shelter over my head and being able to hear the soothing sound of the rain outside. One of my favourite things – Curling up under a blanket in my recliner with a good novel, especially when raining. Pondering these words – ‘Everyone always loses everybody they love but they need to love them because there isn’t anything else’. Favourite time of my day Having our morning Jam session with my sweetheart. From my lens – Remembering when my grass was green and my Cana Lilies were resplendent in colour and not brown from the recent frosts.
Hi everyone I am going to do something new, whilst browsing others blogs I came across this concept and I thought “What a fantastic idea to be able to share what it is that goes on in my life on a day to day basis in a compressed form which is quick and not a long drawn out composition. Also I have not been keeping up with the 365 Day Challenge even though I have been taking photos some days more than one, I have found it constricting following the challenge’s prompts, I prefer to just snap what is around me than trying to find what conforms to the prompts so From my camera lens really appealed to me and will still give me the incentive to keep taking shots.
Outside my window – blue sky with little cloud cover and a gentle breeze. Starting to feel the warmth of the sun through the window. I am thankful for – the thawing of my body out of winter stupor and feeling that spring is now on its way. Noticing that – the bees are coming out and buzzing busily in my garden doing their job. Around the house – after winter dormancy my vegetables have a new spurt of growth about them. I am learning – Photoshop techniques. To take better photos… learn a little bit more everyday. Guitar can only get better practice, practice, practice makes for perfect… I can only hope. I am creating Digital scrap pages. Crochet squares for ‘Wrap for love’ charity. I am currently readingFiction – The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. Non Fiction – Photoshop tutorials, Photography School Newsletter. I am watching video from phototv of Elliot Erwitt’s photography. Pondering these words Let no one who loves be called unhappy. Even love unreturned has its rainbow. From my camera lens and kitchen
My latest scrap page where I have experimented with doing my own title cluster. I started off with a brown swirl added a heart which I recoloured, textured then added a drop shadow too along with the flowers then topped the cluster with my title YUM. I wanted this to be a fun looking page and with the yellow paper and burgundy dots border, lace and title cluster I am thrilled with how it looks.
I created my latest page for Chelle’s designs new feature Superfan Saturday. I used for the main background a paper from Chelle’s NobleEarth kit and extruded a pumpkin from one of my photos then duplicated the pumpkin twice more and made them look like they are sitting in the wagon to get carted to the market. I also used stitching from the same kit but the leaf, flower, flower pin and border paper elements were from other kits. I hope that it was all right to use other design elements apart from chelle’s for this feature as they just look so right for the page. Flower and flower pin were a freebie from Hummie’s World Designer challenge, the creations these scrappers do, that are new to designing are fabulous.
This was the spectacular view that we had from the veranda of our cabin at Depot Beach. As well as this view we were visited by a variety of birds every day when we sat out on the veranda, it made the holiday extra special for us.
This video is of the birds that came to visit us whenever we sat out on the veranda of our cabin at Depot Beach. They are such delightful critters and full of curiosity, most of the birds were Lorikeets but we also had Calahs, Carawongs, King Parrots and various other bird life fly by to visit too, this added a special touch to our holiday.
"One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words."-- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe....
